According to Secretary C.P. Gajurel of Unified Maoists Party, the decision of Prime Minister Baburam to declare elections is a conspiracy to prolong his term in government.
“The unilateral decision to hold election was Prime Minister Baburam’s political coup”, he said this while addressing an interaction program in Kathmandu, May 29, 2012.
Gajural also questioning the constitutional rights of the prime minister said, “With the dissolution of CA and parliament, Baburam is confined to the limited rights as the prime minister. However, he yet claims that he still holds executive powers?”
Talking to the press minutes after CA dissolved May 27, 2012, PM Baburam had claimed that as the executive head of the country he had declared next round of CA election.
“Who believes that the CA will ever draft the constitution”, Gajurel questioned.
When asked by media men why he was criticizing his own party decision, replied Gajurel, “We are not forced to accept unilateral, unconstitutional and illegal decisions.”
Speaking at the same program, United Marxist Leninists’ leader Pradip Gyanwali claimed that PM Baburam had declared the election with a military (rebel) style.
Upendra Yadav of Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Nepal also criticized PM Baburam.
