NC blames Nepal Maoists for CA sad demise, asks for PM resignation

Telegraph Nepal

The decaying Nepali Congress will organize protest programs (aandolan) throughout the country until caretaker Prime Minister Baburam remains occupying the prime ministerial seat.

The party central committee meeting held at the party headquarters, May 31, 2012, had come to the conclusion that with the dissolution of CA, Baburam’s role as the prime minister is limited to being a caretaker one. Thus the NC said, Baburam should tender his resignation to create an environment that is favorable for the formation of a national unity government.

“The Maoists have in a conspiratorial manner dissolved the Constituent Assembly and ignored constitutional provisions to declare the Constituent Assembly elections, which are reactionary in nature, unconstitutional and autocratic in content”, the party minute reads and add, “The Maoists do not have constitutional and political rights to stay in the government.”

The meeting has also urged party wings and other political parties to remain prepared for upcoming protest programs.
