Writes Madhav Dhungel for Nagarik national Daily, May 26, 2012, the ‘federalism debate’ between parties is just for the sake of public consumption internally they are holding talks to get rid of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai before May 27, 2012.
After holding talks at the Prime Ministerial secretariat- the meeting presided over by Prime Minister Baburam himself, Nepali Congress and United Marxist Leninist leaders arrived at the UML parliamentary delegation office in Singhdurbar. Nepali Congress’ Sushil Koirala, Sher Bahadur, Ram Chandra and UML’s Jhalnath, Madhav Nepal were present at the meeting.
There they discussed various strategies to face the situation after Constituent Assembly gets dissolved without drafting the constitution. Some of the leaders viewed that a no confidence motion should be filed against Baburam Bhattarai government before the CA body expires.
“If Baburam stays after CA dissolved it would be very difficult to remove him from the office”, some leaders opined at the meeting whereas some others claimed that the President could sack the Prime Minister after the CA ceases to exist.
“Both the parties came to the conclusion that while sacking the prime minister, it should not provide an impression of a coup d’état”, writes Dhungel.
