It has come to the fore that Nepal’s southern neighbor, the daddy of all Nepali problems, and the so-called largest democratic country, India, too was in favor of extending the Constituent Assembly term by three more months.

According to Sushil Koirala of Nepali Congress, the CA term extension bill registered by the government is a direct attack on the independence of judiciary and has posed grave threat to the democratic order. Does this mean India is not a democratic country? Perhaps hundred yes!

“India’s ambassador Jayant Prasad upon meeting Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Tuesday May 22, 2012 had suggested Nepal’s political parties to extend the CA term”, reports have it.

Prasad met Maoists’ Chairman Dahal soon after landing in Kathmandu after holding consultations with his seniors in New Delhi. Must have returned loaded with sermons for slave like Nepali leaders.

“Is it possible to draft the Constitution before May 27”, asked Jayant and added, “What about extending the CA term?”
