The parties affiliated with the Unified Democratic Madhesi Alliance have threatened to quit the government following agreement between three major parties, Unified Maoists, Nepali Congress and United Marxist Leninist to divide Madhesh (Tarai plains) into three states.
The three parties had reached the deal on Tuesday to form 11 federal states that also includes three states in Madhesh.
It is highly unlikely, going by their past deeds, the Madhesi parties will quit the government, critics claim.
“We do not accept the 11 State Models,” said Laxman Karna of Sadvawana Party and added, “We may quit the government.”
It is reported that some youth leaders who have not been awarded with ministerial portfolio demanded the parties to quit the government and take to the streets against the three party unilateral decisions.
