Below we produce an interesting dialogue between Nepal’s two parliamentarians. The talks begin: ( Unofficial translation).
Early morning on May 2, 2012 Vice Chairman Prakash Chandra Lohani of Rastrya Janshakti Party made a telephone call to another member of the parliament.
Lohani: What is happening?
Parliamentarian: Prakash ji, the drama continues. Who is the director everyone knows?
Lohani: Is that true?
Parliamentarian: Harey Prakash Babu! The other day we were having a discussion at the office of Speaker. He entered the room and revealed us all.
Lohani: What did he reveal?
Parliamentarian: I asked him what is going to happen next. Pat he replied that there will be two states in Madhesh and the new government will be led by Baburam Bhattarai himself. The same thing happened in the evening. Tell me now who is the person? Do you still think that we are ourselves driving the nation? I am tired. These so-called leaders have pushed us all to the brink.
Lohani: Yes you are right we are quickly losing our self esteem. We had the habit of looking for Narayanhiti’s (Royal Palace) line in the past. At least the palace was a Nepali one. Look what is happening now. We have begun looking for the line of outside darbar for our petty internal matters. Is this our self-esteem and nationalism? Had the revolution taken place to observe these sad consequences?
Parliamentarian: Yes, Prakash babu! I am also worried. It has become a matter of pride for us to become the agents of foreigners.
Vice Chairman Lohani in his exclusive write-up for popular Nagarik National Daily, May 16, 2012, has made public his telephone conversation with one of the parliamentarian representing major parties.
So why Dr. Lohani doesn’t come to the streets together with his nationalist band and register his inner protests? But he will not.
