Supporters of ‘Indivisible Far Western region’ and members of ethnic Tharu Community demanding separate Tharu state in the Tarai plains of Far-West clashed with each other providing the inkling of impending communal riots in the country. Endgame Begins!
The supporters of Indivisible Far West have entirely shutdown the region for over fifteen days.
The Tharuhat Struggle Committee was planning to organize a mass meet in Traffic Chowk area of Dhangadhi.
Tharu protestors from nearby districts were thronging at the venue. Clashes mainly triggered when the Far West activists tried to bar members of Tharu community to take part in the mass meet and also took control over the Traffic Chowk area of Dhangadi.
The Tharu protestors later organized their mass meet at Park Chowk.
The Far West activists had set ablaze a vehicle that was carrying the members of Tharu community. This particular incident took place at Trinagar area. So sad.
Clashes erupted in Trinagar, Mudabazaar and Dhangadhi.
At least 45 people have been injured including Tharu Leader Laxman Tharu and the deployed security personnel have also been admitted to local hospitals.
Some fifteen hundred police personnel have been deployed in Dhangadi to avoid further clashes.
Similarly, reports coming all the way from Kanchanpur have it that situation is still tense following several rounds of clashes between Tharu and Brahmin-Chhetri Community.
The unbelievable is happening. The nation is weeping.
