India’s ambassador to Nepal, Sri Jayanat Prasad Srivastav remained heavily occupied on Friday, May 11, 2012. After all he is loaded with heavy duties.
With India’s subservient local leaders failing so far to resolve their internal disputes, the Indian representative had to become active, critics have it.
He deserves appreciation.
The other day Prasad had mediated, rather presided over a meet, between Nepal’s political parties to give a formal shape to the so-called ‘Consensus yet incomplete Government’.
Early hours on Friday, Jayant met with Chairman Pushpa Kamal of Unified Maoists and during the day he met with President Sushil of Nepali Congress, writes the Himalaya Times daily, May 12, 2012.
Jayant himself took the pain in visiting Dahal’s posh bungalow and later straight headed to Maharajgunj to meet Sushil.
A fatigued Srivastav however, preferred to talk to Jhalnath & Madhav Nepal of United Marxist Leninist over telephone.
Status matters.
