The Unified Maoists Party leaders at a three party meeting held in Kathmandu, May 7, 2012 have accepted their fault while appointing ministers in the newly formed cabinet but declined correcting the mistakes.
Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai were both present at the meeting.
In the meeting, both Dahal and Baburam accepted that mistakes have been made. The UML leaders immediately asked the Maoists to correct them, yet the Maoists’ duo made it clear that there was no possibility of going back.
At the meeting, Dahal requested the UML leaders to take part in the government. The Unified Maoists’ party leaders also held a separate meeting with the Nepali Congress leaders. The meeting with NC leaders took place at Chairman Dahal’s NPR 350 Million worth posh “proletarian” bungalow in Kathmandu.
Dahal told the NC leaders that he had no objection whatsoever to the federal model proposed by the Nepali Congress but claimed that the Madhesi Alliance was not supportive to the proposal.
