The United Marxist Leninist leader K.P. Sharma Oli has proposed to file a no confidence motion against Nepal’s India trained Baburam’s government at a Nepali Congress-UML two party meeting.
Oli made it clear that since the Unified Maoists’ Party was, at the fag-end of constitution drafting process, creating hurdles thus it has become necessary and urgent to derail the present government.
“The Maoists have been obstructing the constitution drafting process as against the agreement reached between the parties at the Hattiban resort”, sources quote Oli as saying and add stating, “This is the right time to file a no confidence motion against the Maoists’ government”.
“Neither the Maoists want formation of a national unity government nor do they want to draft the constitution. Their main objective is to continue in government by hook or crook.”
A Nepali Congress leader who was also present at the meeting told Annapurna Post that the two parties have decided to provide the Maoists with a two days ultimatum.
“If the Maoists do not come to terms, the parties will jointly file a no confidence motion,” the NC leader confirmed.
