The popular Janaastha Weekly in its online edition has made public a transcript of conversation between Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior vice chairman Mohan Baidya Kiran of Unified Maoists’ Party. The conversation according to Janaastha weekly took place on Friday April 20, 2012.
The interesting conversation between the two took place in the first day of New Year 2069.
Baidya: Comrade Prachanda! Please clarify why is there need for a separate communist party…why not our party is merged with the United Marxist Leninist Party? What are the differences between the two communist parties?
Prachanda: No Comrade Baidya. We are separate. The UML has adopted our agenda for secular state, federalism, inclusion and republic.
Baidya: It’s even easier then (accept a merger). No matter who takes on to whose agenda the destination is the same. We have everything similar with the UML. Only the name is different. Tell me comrade why do we need a separate platform?
What was Dahal’s response to this interesting Baidya query has not been made public by Janaastha instead the online claims, “Prachanda’s response could not be jotted by his personal security guards.”
