Nepal Maoists Chief says he feel sorry for men in Baidya team

Telegraph Nepal

Nepal Maoists Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, out of nervousness perhaps, has made it a point these days to pounce upon his senior colleague and mentor, Mohan Baidya Pokhrel-Kiran.

Why he attacks the Baidya panel is not at all a secret. It is this panel that has very freshly hurled grave charges against their own party Head as to have excessive linkages with India’s RAW agency and also some tacit understanding with the Nepali royalists-by implication with the now sidelined King.

Though Prachanda denies this allegation in haste and instead makes the same charges against the rival panel.

Question thus remains intact. Either the RAW or the Royalists need to explain the “reality”. Can we expect?

If all were the men of RAW and Royalists then who is the Republican? And then who were the sons of this soil? None perhaps. Sikkimisation appears round the corner.

Talking to his cadres in Banepa, April 18, 2012, said Prachanda “I enjoy the support of some 110 plus Central Committee members in my favour”.

In saying so he in an implied manner hinted his opponents that they have had only thirty CC members with them and thus could not make any substantial difference to him and his current post.

A challenge to Mohan Baidya that it is.

As if this were not enough to tease Mohan Baidya and his team, Chairman Dahal further said that “I feel very sorry for those leaders who were with the Baidya panel”.

Provocation or a real love?

Yet another jolt to Baidya panel.

“Baidya panel is a bunch of the status quoists( Jad Sutrabadi)... they do not understand the importance of changes...they are in sheer illusion”, Dahal spoke his inner mind finally.

According to Dahal, the rival panel is just awaiting the May 27 deadline and is in a mood to wait and see the event that follow until the day.

He however, asserted that if the party’s CC met right at this juncture then the party is sure to split.

Dahal in the course of his speech also made it clear that he had to take extra initiatives for the Army integration which fortunately got facilitated with the internal squabble inside the party. “I had no option left to defeat the reactionaries other than by easing the integration process”, a sunny Dahal said.

Unconfirmed reports have it that the Baidya panel too is prepared to “expose” the establishment panel led by Dahal-Bhattarai duo.

The fight is for real or a ploy to keep others guessing?
