The Chairman of original Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum led by none other than the Madhesi messiah of the bygone era, Upendra Yadav has threatened that constitution imposed by major three parties, Unified Maoists, Nepali Congress and United Marxist Leninist was not acceptable to the people.
He claimed this while addressing a media interaction program in Kathmandu, April 16, 2012, and further said that his party will publicly burn the constitution that will be drafted without peoples’ participation.
Yadav was also of the view that other parties represented in the constituent assembly too must become a part of the constitution drafting process.
Addressing at the same program Bharat Mohan Adhikari of United Marxist Leninist Party urged Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai to tender his resignation to ease the process of formation of a consensus government.
“The UML and Maoists have led the government twice. The Nepali Congress must be allowed to lead the government next”, claimed Adhiakri.
Mr. Adhikari was jailed during the Royal regime on charges of “corruption”.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai’s political advisor Devendra Poudel ‘Sunil’ made it clear at the same program that the time was not appropriate for Prime Minister Baburam to resign.
“The present government could be transformed into an all party government”, he said and added, “There is no reliable basis for the formation of a national unity government. Prime Minister Baburam will not resign.”
