The alliance between 13 communist parties including the hardliner faction of Unified Maoists’ Party led by Mohan Baidya ‘Kiran’ has made public another round of protest programs against what they call ‘autocratic government led by Prime Minister Baburam’.
Issuing a press statement, the Unified National Peoples’ Uprising Committee comprising of the 13 communist parties, April 12, 2012, also condemned ‘the police brutality against peaceful rallies held on Thursday’.
A press meet was also organized in Kathmandu.
On Thursday, the police had intervened in a torch rally held in capital Kathmandu organized by the dissatisfied/disqualified militias which left some 11 eleven people injured.
The torch rally had been organized against the decision of the Establishment panel of Unified Maoists’ Party to handover the Militias, Cantonments and Weapons to the Nepal Army.
The alliance has announced protest programs beginning April 20 until May 15, 2012.
Torch rallies, signature campaign, march and mass meetings have been planned.
