Weapon surrender was Nepal-Maoists’ compulsion: Koirala

The Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala is also very much hopeful that the constitution drafting process will end as limited by the Supreme Court decision.

Koirala nevertheless, pointed that the Maoists’ hasty decision was more a compulsion than anything else. 

The decision of the Special Committee to handover weapons, cantonments and militias to the Nepal Army was a major breakthrough in the peace process. He however demanded that his party led government must be formed much ahead of the constitution drafting process ends.

Government formation drama thus begins.

“It has been already agreed between the parties that with the completion of peace process a new government led by Nepali Congress will take formal shape”, Koirala reminded and replying to queries to scribes also added, “I have no desire whatsoever to lead. It is up to the party’s central committee to choose our candidate.”

Sushil was addressing a press meet organized by the universal journalist Rishi Dhamala in Kathmandu, April 11, 2012.

The lone extraordinary Nepali journalist Dhamala had expressed his willingness to become a Nepali leader time permitting while talking this online edition some two years ago.

  • It's true that India would have printed inuaivddil passports with data filled in them meaning that data of every Nepali traveling abroad would have remained with Indians. The Indians would have used our data to further their espionage interests in Nepal and South Asia. It was a dangerous game that India was playing with us.

Prachanda is too cleave a sly fox and hyaena. He know what to do when. He saved this skin once again. But how long. Ending i see very bad for him... We wish to see the fear in his face that he gave to nepali janata for decades ......
