The decision of the Unified Maoists’ Party establishment team led none other than by Chairman Pushpa Kamal and Vice Chairman Baburam to handover weapons, cantonments and militias to the Nepal Army have triggered spontaneous outrage among the disqualified militias that have the direct support of the party hardliner panel led by nationalist leader Mohan Baidya Kiran.
The disqualified/dissatisfied Militias have thus formed a Peoples’ Liberation Army Struggle Committee across the country and threatened to take up the arms against the party chairman and vice chairman.
India is likely to cash in upon such a local Nepali conflict. This India will as it did in the past. All that India needs a Nepal destabilising CARD.
The sixth division battalion commander Dhan Bahadur Bogati has been appointed coordinator of the struggle committee.
“It was Prachanda and Baburam’s submissive decision to handover the revolutionary armed forces to the Nepal Army,” claims Bogati in a statement issued, April 11, 2012 and adds, “The process is not accepted to the revolutionary Peoples’ Army. We demand immediate withdrawal of the decision”, says Bogati.
“The government and the party have to pay a heavy price if our demands are not met with. Our arms could be pointed towards Prachanda and Baburam,” he also warned.
So the Maoists top hats are already the target.
In the meantime, Mohan Baidya Panel of the party organized an hour long Chakka Jam and organized torch rally throughout the country deploring the Dahal-Bhattarai decision.
The police had intervened at the torch rally in Kathmandu wherein 11 protestors and 2 police officials have been injured.
Effigies of Chairman Dahal and Prime Minister Baburam were also burnt at several places across the country.
Interesting events are likely to crop up in the national scene.Friends have turned foes.
