“Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister Baburam give the impression that they are equally committed to drafting the constitution but they want to rule the country for an indefinite period even after dissolving the constituent assembly”.
“Both Dahal and Bhattarai are conspiring to rule the country ad infinitum,” claimed K.P. Sharma Oli in Kathmandu, April 7, 2012.
“This government will not promulgate the constitution,” he also claimed.
Oli also stood against federalism based on ethnicity.
He claimed, “There are more than one hundred ethnic groups in the country. We need at least hundred federal states if we agree on ethnicity based federalism,” claimed Oli.
“Those who have recently acquired Nepali citizenship have been categorized as ‘dhartiputra’-son of the soil, however, those who have been living here for hundreds of years and with majority population have been categorized as ‘others’,” said Oli referring to Brahmins and Chhetris.
Oli is himself a Brahmin by birth.
