Nepal needs a reliable guardian: Kamal Thapa (RPP-N)

Telegraph Nepal

Chairman Kamal Thapa of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal has made it clear that his party is struggling for the return of monarchy because the country needs a guardian but not favouring an individual as such.

“We have been advocating for the return of monarchy because the institution could play the role of a guardian”, he said in Bijnagar of Pyuthan district, April 3, 2012.

“I have begun feeling that people’s faith in the now sidelined institution is growing steadily. However, it all depends on the people to decide whether or not they want the institution revived.”

Addressing the mass meet, also said Thapa, “Constitution draft is impossible within the legal time frame. Even if NC, UML, Maoist and Madhesi parties draft the constitution it will be a document of political deal between the parties.”

“The Constitution will thus legalize ongoing political bargain between the parties,” he added.

“It is highly unfortunate that the parties have ate up five years time doing nothing yet consuming more than 100 Billion rupees. The major parties must be penalized for deceiving the public”, Thapa concluded.

Kamal Thapa perhaps doesn't know that S. D. Muni is already in town to foil his efforts.
