Revive 1990 Nepal Charter with Const Monarchy: Kamal Thapa RPP-N

Telegraph Nepal

Chairman Kamal Thapa of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal who stands firm in his political standing for  unconditional return of monarchy said in Chitwan, April 2, 2012, that in order to avert the crisis after parties fail to draft the constitution, the constitution of 1990 with constitutional monarchy could be revived.

Thapa’s sure shot formulae.

“After May 27 the country will enter into a critical phase of constitutional vacuum”, said Thapa and added, “At best, the 1990 constitution with monarchy could protect the country.”

“There is the urgent need for an intense dialogue between all factions of the society to achieve the target of peace and constitution”, he opined.

However, he warned that sidelining any of the factions could trigger yet another crisis.

“The constitution should be inclusive of all demands,” he said and continued, “The only option for getting rid of the present crisis is through cooperation, unity and dialogue between Communists, Parliamentarians and Nationalists.”

  • Well said Kamalji. After all it was that traitor, Girja, that requested the then King Gyanendra to take the reins of the country to deal with the Maoists. Later, he together with other traitors in turn demanded for the king to resign. Now that Girja is dead, and I sincerely believe he is in Narga, we will have come to a full circle. Perhaps now, we can start the reconstruction process after reviving the 1990 constitution.

  • I completely agree with Mr Thapa. In past, We had only one problematic man was Girija as he is no more now so we all Nepalese can come together and reconcile our rifts with the 1990 constitution to save our nation and nationality. This is only the best option left with us.

  • There's no need to take anything in such negative way upon what Mr.Thapa has opined because the welfare of people and long term fate of independent nation could only be possible as said by him.Unity among all political forces including royal institution,is a must and no alternate to find best and sustainable solution facing by nation.
