Nepal’s Former King Gyanendra Shah suddenly turned serious when his supporters told him that the institution of monarchy was overthrown in a conspiratorial manner.
“We urge Your Majesty to stage a comeback at any cost. We know that the institution was sidelined without having clear mandate of the people,” said a Royal supporter in Dhangadi, April 1, 2012.
“The mandate of peoples’ uprising (62/63) was not to overthrow the monarchy”, the supporter said and continued “The political parties have betrayed the population and monarchy.”
The former King’s public interaction was held in the presence of media.
Repeatedly provoked by his supporters, Gyanendra Shah nevertheless remained tight lipped.
Some 80 supporters had lined in queue to personally talk to the king at the Hotel Ruwas.
The former king also visited the Ghoda Ghodi Lake.
