After a long silence, Dr. Shekhar Koirala, a leader of the Nepali Congress has said that “the internal conflict observed inside the Maoists party was nothing more than a calculated drama”.
He said so while talking to his party cadres in Pyuthan, April 1st, 2012.
“They have been just staging a drama of internal conflict in order to delay the process of constitution drafting”, added Koirala.
“It is just a conspiracy only”, he went on to add.
He however, predicted that the internal conflict, if any, inside the Maoists party will automatically come to an end after May 27, 2012.
According to Koirala-basically a medical surgeon by profession, the Nepali congress wants to see a changed Maoists, however, laments Koirala by stating that “ what of our wishes if the party doesn’t want to change itself”.
To recall, Koirala was the one of the key figures who assisted the Maoists to come to Kathmandu from NOIDA, New Delhi.
Koirala studied at All India Medical Institute, Delhi, India.
If the seven point agreement is implemented verbatim, opines Koirala, all the political problems confronting the nation will be resolved.
“And this is what my party wants”, said Koirala.
We will not further press the Maoists to do this or that if the party implements the previous seven points agreements, continued Dr. Koirala.
According to Koirala, his party will never oppose the adoption of federal system of governance in the country, however, with some reservations.
Concluding his speech, Koirala hurled the entire blame onto the head of the Maoists party for the present day political hotchpotch.
