Nepali Congress and Maoist's rigid stance causing delay: Pokhrel

Ishwar Pokhrel, the Secretary of the UML has blamed that the entire delay observed in the completion of the peace and constitution drafting processes were caused by the haughtiness of the Nepali Congress and the Maoists.

The “visionary” leader of the UML said this in Biratnagar, March 31, 2012.

Thanks it was not April fool’s day.

“The rigid stances taken by the Nepali Congress and the Maoists have impeded the draft of the constitution”, the enlightened UML leader said.

The prolongation of the transitional period, says Pokhrel, has been solely due to the fact that it had been extremely difficult in bringing these two parties closer which were the adherents of poles-apart political ideologies.  

In his illuminating observation, opined Pokhrel, “while the Maoists believed in the transformation of the society only through a complete revolt or revolution, then on the other, the Nepali Congress considered that a Nepal can’t even be imagined of sans Monarchy and thus the UML was making hilarious efforts in bringing these two differing parties to a common point for accomplishing the transformation procedures which is what has been causing the delay.

He lamented stating that “had the people made the UML the largest party through the CA polls, the transitional period would have been already come to an end, so hoped Pokhrel who, according to the wide spread rumour had hid his illegal money inside the water tank some years back. He was accused during the Royal regime.

Though Pokhrel denied these allegations by claiming that the rumours had been deliberately spread only to malign his clean political character.
