Nepal Maoists-Dahal has become yet another UML: Badal

General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ of Unified Maoists’ Party equating the panel led by Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal with the United Marxist Leninist Party said Tuesday March 27, 2011, that “Earlier we had only one UML now we have two UML in Nepali politics.”

“When we declared revolt, there were Nepali Congress and UML as our real opponents. Now a new UML has been born. We have enough strength and energy to fight with both of them”.

“There is the need to give a shape to a new party. The new party has become necessary to complete the revolution and ensure peoples’ constitution,” he said while addressing a program organized by Newa: Sovereign Council in Kathmandu.

Advising his cadres said Thapa, “While the new party takes shape, I urge you all to constitute parallel committee(s) from top to bottom-at all the levels. It is certain that the “old party” will not be able to complete the historical tasks.”

Is the old party Badal is referring to is the o0ne which flourished in NOIDA?

“We need to expose the anti-nationals who have submitted the sanctity of the nation to the foreigners”, Thapa also revealed. He, however, did not name the anti-nationals!

“It may be necessary that we take aggressive posture during that time. Our action will be urban centric.”

Fresh chaos in the pipeline.

“We are not against peace and constitution but we will not also accept a constitution that is the copy of 1990 constitution”, he added.

But what about the constitution that is being drafted in New Delhi as per Dr. Shashank Koirala of the Nepali Congress?

“Our panel will focus on Kathmandu centric protest programs around May 27” and added, “Whether the protest programs will be armed or unarmed one depend on the situation then.”

It is widely expected that Nepal’s proven inefficient political parties will fail to draft the constitution before May 27 deadline.
