Telegraph Nepal
Here is heart burning news for the Indian administrators who spend billions of rupees overtly and covertly to ensure their sole hold in Nepal affairs. Yet the miserable part of Indian calculated design is that while their tax payer’s hard-earned money is spent like water, it has yielded so far no positive results. The fact is also that let alone growing its influence, India has slowly but surely losing its ground where countries like China and Europe have taken over.
The news goes like this.
The controversial Chinese firm ‘Asia Pacific Exchange and Cooperation Foundation (APEC)’ which had brought hearts in the mouths of Indian rulers and their paid Nepali agents by proposing billions of dollars of investment in Lumbini -the birth place of Lord Buddha, has reached an agreement with a government agency in Nepal that will allow them to invest USD 0.1 Million each year. Isn’t it interesting?
Though money is small.
Chairman Pushpa Kamal of Unified Maoists is the vice chairman of the Chinese Foundation.
The agreement which will remain valid for five years is being seen as the first victory for APEC in Nepal.
The fund will be directed towards cultural activities and restore buildings with historical importance.
The Foundation had formally declared that it will invest a colossal amount of USD 3 Billion in the birth of Lord Buddha, Lumbini.
According to the plan, an international airport, railway track, international convention center, communication center, broad band internet access, hospitals, conference halls, schools and a University shall be constructed in Lumbini.
Some declared cohorts of India will have their work cut out in the days ahead.
Lord Buddha is Nepal’s pride.
