The dispute over federal order should be sorted out through the conduct of a referendum, said K.P. Sharma Oli and added, I am not personally against the federal order.
Oli made this dubious remark in Biratnagar of Morang District, March 20, 2012.
He also said, “Federalism could threaten territorial integrity, nationalism and provoke violence in the country thus referendum could resolve the dispute.”
“There are many people who support the federal order and there are equal numbers of people who reject the entire idea”, he said while addressing a press meet in Biratnagar and asked, “What is the harm in embracing a referendum to resolve the dispute.”
He was also of the view that the Unified Maoists Party have become weaker due to the internal disputes thus it has failed to properly lead the government.
“The present government is nearing an end,” he predicted.
He even claimed that this government can’t be taken as a government worth the name, because some ministers are in jail (perhaps he is talking of JP. Gupta) on corruption charges, a few others, for example, Minister Saroj Yadav, under the spell of Alcoholic drinks create havoc inside the Hospital premises and yet some others thunder that they will split the nation.
Is this then a government? Oli questioned.
Oli in all his honesty summarised the “character” of the JNU cabinet.
“However, our party has resolved all internal disputes and is marching along the course to contribute in the nation building process”, Oli also said.
Which nation building is Oli talking about?
He predicted that this government will crumble sooner than later. By the way, Oli is also eying Nepal PM post if his ‘intimate mentors’ across the borders elevate him.
Crane is needed yet because he is not even a CA member.
