Telegraph Nepal
Better late than never, India- unfortunately Nepal’s nearest and dearest neighbour limited only in papers, has come to its senses that by supporting the western agenda of so-called ‘ethnic uprising’ in Nepal have ultimately become counterproductive to itself, critics have it.
Nepal’s intelligent analysts had been suggesting the myopic Indian rulers not to toe the western agenda but to no avail. India is no more than a US tail.
Reportedly, India’s troubled yet comparatively sober ambassador Jayant Prasad met with the leaders of major political parties and virtually warned them to tame the ethnic movements going in several parts of the country or else his country will have to take a harsh decision.
But what about troubling Nepal in the recent past?
“Ambassador Prasad and his seniors seated in New Delhi corridors woke up from their deep slumber only after they were informed that some of the leaders running separatist movements in the North-East India were invited by Nepali organizers to participate in an ethnic conference recently held in Dharan of Sunsari District”, reports have it.
As you sow, so will you reap?
The conference attended by Constituent Assembly members representing various political parties was sponsored by some of European donor agencies.
One EU team has just visited Nepal.
The ambassador also met with India elevated Nepal’s Prime Minister Baburam and sought immediate clarification from him.
It is widely believed that the some European donor agencies have been providing funds for the ethnic groups in Nepal seeking support to anti-China movement in Nepal.
After China, it should be India by extension. First jolt to India from republican Nepal.
