The former Chief of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Surya Nath Upadhyaya and Chairman Jhal Nath Khanal of United Marxist Leninist has been both challenged by Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP) to prove that their properties have been legally acquired.
Hitting the nail on the head!
Upadhyaya who has also served as Secretary for Water Resources has faced no corruption charges against him during his career but Chairman Khanal to recall, used to be quite popular for wearing expensive tie that he bought in London.
Most of his attire is imported from London, analysts have been told.
Khanal who hails from a lower medium class background owns a five story building in Kathmandu. Upadhyaya used to be close to the royal palace in the past, it was rumoured then.
Chairman Khanal the other day had claimed that basically Madhesh centric parties are full of corrupts. Great joke.
The parliamentary delegation meeting of the TMLP was held in Singhdurbar, February 29, 2012.
The party has termed Chairman Khanal remarks as irresponsible and a provocative one.
“A person (Khanal) who himself lives a lavish life like a feudal sardar, is alleging Madheshi leaders of being corrupt which is jocular and deplorable.”
“We challenge both Khanal and Upadhyaya to prove that their properties are legal”, the TMLP leaders said.
