That revolutionary Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of Unified Maoists Party has turned into a highly untrustworthy political figure becomes clear from the demand forwarded by his own party’s youth affiliate, Young Communist League (YCL).
The YCL leaders had a meeting with the party senior leaders at the party headquarters, February 25, 2012, wherein they told point blank that they can no longer take Chairman Dahal’s verbal assurances at face value.
Dahal was also present on the occasion. Grand slide this.
“We will not settle for less than a written commitment from Comrade Prachanda,” claimed the irritated YCL leaders who are demanding economic package similar to their PLA (Peoples’ Liberation Army) counterparts.
Chairman Dahal has been making several verbal assurances to the YCL.
The YCL leaders also demanded the party administration to make details public of party levy from the monthly salary of the PLA and make it a transparent affair.
The cat is out of the bag.
The Maoist party receives Rs 10,000 from each Constituent Assembly (CA) member and Rs. 1,000 from the PLA each month. Must have been a mini Rastra bank.
Dahal responded by saying that, “I feel sorry that the package as promised by the party has been delayed. On Sunday we will make the final decision.”
During the meeting, the YCL representatives had threatened their chairman to gherao his newly acquired posh bungalow located in Lazimpat.
According to popular Sanghu weekly, the bungalow in Lazimpat was formerly owned by Nawal Singhania and transferred to Ms. Shishu Aryal on July 29, 2011.
Aryal who is missing since the deal signed, according to reports, is a close relative of Dahal’s trusted person Ajay Sumargi. Surmargi a controversial figure happens to be a business man.
It is suspected that Dahal through his illegal source of earnings had acquired the property in the name of Shishu Aryal. The rest Almighty knows.
