The United Marxist Leninist i.e. ‘the party of eunuchs’ in the words of Nepal’s India indoctrinated trained Prime Minister Baburam has criticized the Prime Minister himself and some of his ministers for having made remarks against territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.
Paper tigers!
Experts however, opine that the day 12-Point India drafted agreement was signed in New Delhi, to recall November 22, 2005, Nepali sovereignty and integrity was handed over to Indian rulers by Nepali leaders.
So believes Dr. Bhimarjun Acharya-Nepal’s constitutional expert. (Read Five Questions).
UML was too a party which signed 12 point agreement.
According to the UML, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai’s assertion that Nepal could eventually merge/submerge into India or China if the country fails to act as a dynamic bridge between the two countries, was not only deplorable but his remarks are also against the national sovereignty.
Bhattarai some days back in an interaction with his preferred group of journalists while deriding at Nepal’s unifier King Prithivi Narayan Shah had claimed that “If we fail to come out from the buffer state mentality, there looms the threat of either merging with India or China.”
In his interaction with the same group of journalists, Baburam had disclosed visit schedule of Prime Minister Wen Jiabao to Nepal. The planned two day visit was cancelled due to the same reason, yet the Chinese PM later managed to find some five hours from his busy schedule to land in Nepal. He saved Nepal from embarrassment.
The UML central committee meeting, February 16, 2012, had criticized those remarks.
“A person who was sworn in by the constitution and is the Prime Minister of the country has made such an irresponsible remark, the UML deplores in the statement.”
The Nepali Congress is yet to make its views clear over Baburam’s anti-national remarks. To expect Nepali congress express concerns over national issues will be a far-cry only, claim observers.NC takes New Delhi as the spring of its party politics.
The UML has also said that the party will stand firm against any move that is aimed at weakening country’s territorial integrity.
Thug leaders. Analysts opine that the UML should have come to the streets instead of issuing statements against JNU Bhattarai.
The meeting was presided over by Chairman Jhal Nath Khanal.
