Unified Maoists, richest in Asia: UML leader Madhav Nepal

Telegraph Nepal

According to senior United Marxist Leninist leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, the ruling Unified Maoists’ Party has already become the richest party in Asia.

By snatching bank cheque from the retired Maoists soldiers, the party is trying to become richest party in the world, opined Mr. Nepal.

Mr. Nepal was making his fiery speech while addressing a gathering in Bhaktapur, February 14, 2012. He did not provide any evidence to justify his claim.

Mr. Nepal too once upon a time headed Nepal government.

In the course of becoming the richest party in the world, said the UML leader, the Unified Maoists’ Party is slowly but surely losing its ground in the country.

Mr. Nepal maintained that the Constituent Assembly term will not be further extended if parties fail to promulgate constitution before May 27, 2012.

Until Maoists completely abandon violent politics, conclusion of peace process is impossible, opined Mr. Nepal and concluded by stating that so far Maoists have been obstructing the peace process under various pretexts.

Madhav Nepal was the one UML leader, Bamdev apart, who went in search of the Maoists during the War period. He traveled from Siliguri to Lucknow and finally found the rebels in NOIDA, New Delhi, wherein they all were forced to sign the 12 point Nepal damage agreement by the host. Mr. Nepal beamingly signed the suicidal agreement, if Mr. Nepal recalls.Mr. Nepal is a strong nationalist though.
