Dahal asks Sushil to join govt, Nepal PM Bhattarai trembles from within

Telegraph Nepal

The Unified Maoists’ Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal whose political credibility is on the continuous wane both within his own party and outside met with President Sushil Koirala of Nepali Congress and requested the latter to join the incumbent government led by Nepal’s India trained Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai aka BIPPA, as he is being widely taken in Kathmandu’s academic circuit.

Dahal’s benevolent proposal to join the government has come at a time when Baburam has reportedly begun suspecting that the Chairman himself is lobbying against his government. Dahal’s timely move. If he doesn’t play double then he must not be a Dahal. Bhaattarai has reasons to tremble.

“He must have forwarded the proposal when he is presumed to have been making efforts to be the next Nepal PM and thus must have played his cards to detail this government,” the Kantipur quotes an unnamed NC leader as saying.

Intelligent Kantipur.

Dahal’s proposal to join the government might have come as a piece of cake for ‘satta ko bhoka’ congress men but K Garney there is no option.

Poor Koirala said (perhaps with a heavy heart), “Our priority is peace and constitution but not to join the government.”

Yet Koirala forwarded some conditions, “Those who prefer retirement should be immediately sent home and those who want integration must be handed over to the Nepal Army and you must also return all the weapons. These tasks must be completed before we join the government.”
