Former King of Nepal, Gyanendra Shah finally proved that “his final destination too was New Delhi”.
Or else why should he have stayed longer in India than what had been given to understand back home?
After attending a marriage ceremony of his close relative in Jodhpur, the former Nepal sovereign is already in New Delhi.
Reports that have appeared in Nepali press claim that he will not return to Nepal until he is granted an “audience” by the Italy born de factor Indian ruler, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi.
By this time, Nepal’s former monarch is learnt to have already met with some of the Indian leaders who count in Nepali politics but can’t impose their dictates to the ruling establishment.
Dr. Karna Singh-heir apparent of Kashmir Kingdom but now serving Mrs Sonia Gandhi as international advisor, Narendra Singh Modi-Chief Minister of Gujrat, Digbijaya Singh-Indian Congress, and Lal Krishna Advani-leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He has also met with some redundant Indian parliamentarians, it has been learnt.
“Beginning Sunday, January 29, 2012, former King’s parleys with the Indian VVIPs is to begin”, claim media sources.
However, analysts opine that meeting with peripheral Indian leaders will not work.
To recall, Sonia Gandhi-Rajiv Gandhi in their formative days used to be the private guest of Prince Gyanendra at Nirmal Nivas. It is a long time back affair.
In those days, the Gandhis had no post or whatsoever.
By the way, high placed sources have told this online edition that a section of the Indian Intelligence Agency, RAW, favours the restoration of Nepali monarchy.
This section believes that Nepal King can only provide Nepal the needed political stability which in turn would be in the larger interests of the Indian regime itself.
Perhaps it should have been this special lobby inside the RAW who were invited as guest of former Monarch at a dinner, May 28, 2011, if one were to recall.
Strong nationalist that the former monarch claims himself to be. Interesting events.
