Nepal PM Bhattarai must resign as no alternative remains: Dr. Mahat

The Nepali Congress leader, Dr. Ram Saran Mahat has said that if the Maoists refrain from accepting the democratic norms and values and brush aside the agreements and the commitments the party had made in the past with other parties, the draft of a new constitution for the country was fairly an impossible affair.

He said if the peace process doesn’t take a leap forward; it would be just a task unattainable for the writing of the new Charter.

“Now it all depends upon the Maoists whether or not to draft the constitution on the stipulated time frame”, opined Dr. Mahat who was Nepal’s finance minister in the past.

Dr. Mahat alleged that the Maoists were pushing unwanted and unwarranted obstructions in the entire process in order to draft a constitution of their preference and liking.

“Thus they want to derail the ongoing peace process”, said Mahat while addressing a Press Union gathering in Rupandehi district, January 25, 2012.

The Maoists should understand, says Mahat, the gravity of the political situation and also of their national responsibilities.

Babu Ram government should resign immediately as this set up has set an example of mal-governance and encouraged rampant corruption by squeezing the national exchequer, added Dr. Mahat.

“PM Bhattarai should tender his resignation…this has no second alternative”, continued Mahat.

Says Mahat that one could take this government as the number one corrupt having excelled in institutionalising mal-governance.

The Nepal Congress doesn’t accord priority in partnering the government instead the NC prefers the prevalence of rule of law in the nation.

Sarda Singh's ex-defence ministry portifolio should be restablish. because PM's version and His version was same that is why Bhandary got great penalty.In this way same crime but different ways act. Nobody has hunt to nationalism.
