The widow of late Madan Bhandari, Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari has made a brilliant proposition wherein she says, (sic), “Unless the Nepal Maoists are completely disarmed, the draft of a new constitution for the country was next to impossible”.
Late Madan Bhandari was a visionary UML leader. He died a mysterious death. Notably, late Bhandari’s wife, Mrs. Bhandari prefers not to dig the mysterious death of her own husband. This in itself is a double mystery.
She made these observations in Biratnagar, January 25, 2012, while talking to her party cadres.
“The delay seen in the draft of the Nepal constitution is solely due to the fact that the Maoists still were obsessed with the weapon mindset”, she made this intelligent remark.
She further opined that the parties must converge to a common point or else the constitution can’t be drafted even in the extended six months time.
“First, the peace process should be completed or else we can never have the new constitution”, Mrs. Bhandari added.
According to her, the peace process can’t be left in a limbo.
She also instructed her cadres to remain in an united manner to strengthen the party unity from top to down.
Mrs. Bhandari is presumed to be very close to the Indian establishment.
