We may or not have any grievances with the NORDIC countries, well that should remain an exclusive affair left to be decided by Nepal as a nation-state and the countries belonging close to the North pole of the earth.
However, if some diplomats from a friendly country dares to spoil our relations with those nations with helping hands then it must be looked upon as a serious matter for not only the Nepali nation-state but also for those countries who have freshly been insulted by one naughty Indian diplomat (now reteired) who has already served as Indian Ambassador to Nepal in the very tumultuous days of 2004-2006 that continued till the Nepali monarchy proceeded towards the Nagarjun Jungles. The assigned job was thus accomplished by the one who followed him in Kathmandu. That was India’s top agenda which no longer remains a secret now.
Understandably, it was this Indian diplomat who during his tenure in Kathmandu breached all the diplomatic conducts and decency and pounced upon any one whom he apparently disliked including the then, good or bad, the ruling Sovereign Nepali monarch. The Nepali Head of the State was his target.
And Lo! Those Nepali leaders then in agitation who listened to Ambassador Shiv Shanker Mukherjee targeting the King were for all praise for the erratic Ambassador, however, yet some of the nationalist souls in the Kathmandu’s vanishing crowd, even who differed with the then King’s ambitious role, could not digest the insulting remarks made by the coarse Indian diplomat concluding that if a mere third level Indian clerk could attack the ruling Head of the State then how he could he have taken those leaders who had been begging for support from him in order to land their agitation in a success? He was also taken as a Bhatbhateni diplomat by some media men for some mysterious reasons to which we have yet to understand as to why he was called so?
This reminds us of the Indian national, Chadra Shekhar dirty remarks against the then King in the early months of 1990. Habits followed by bureaucrats. He is no more in this material world. Rest in peace.
In effect, the 12 point agreement seed was sown by arrogant Ambassador Shyam Saran while being in Kathmandu and the germinated plant was later nourished by Ambassador Shiv Shanker Mukherjee and finally Rakesh Sood, the one whose name was very much being used by Nepali mothers then to tame their weeping children and they slept out of fear , catapulted the entire Nepal’s glorious past which could be noticed, May 28, 2008, late night in his face while being seated at the Balcony of the now dead CA body. By the way, the CA hall was built by China some decades back.
It was in the very presence of Ambassador Sood the country was declared a republic and later made a secular one. Indian wishes came to true.
What was more than puzzling is that a readymade letter from the office of the Indian Speaker of Parliament, Som Nath Chaterjee, was read out instantly by Congress leader Mr. Kul Bahadur Gurung, the officiating Speaker of the King’s revived parliament providing all with the impression that India had much in advance remained determined in turning Nepal into a republic.
Nepal thus was taught a lesson, in late Gandhi’s words. Some even claim that this Indian letter had himself been brought by Ambassador Sood, April 26, 2008, when he landed in Kathmandu to take up his new assignment.
Terror became a Nepali phenomenon till he retired from Nepali soil. One month in advance was the letter right here in Kathmandu to be read out on the auspicious moment, May 28, 2008 late night.
A beaming Sood must have remained in an excited state whose price Nepal is paying now with the calculated death of the Constituent Assembly. The 12 point CA body was forced to die an unnatural death.
As if these troubles were not enough, the Indian establishment is now hell bent on killing Nepal’s formal and excellent ties with the countries from the NORDIC region. Good or bad, these countries have at difficult times supported Nepal’s development processes. We must thank them for all what they have done for our developmental efforts in different sectors. Some countries in this conglomerate may have inadvertently exhibited their private extra interest in Nepali affairs yet such acts have so far not completely damaged Nepal. However, the Indian diplomat which is spitting venom against the NORDIC friends must recall how his country, during his own tenure in Kathmandu, calculatedly charted plans and programs, in association with some “for sale” Nepali leaders, to break and create fissures among the Nepalese population. The Birganj Indian diplomat has made it a point on how to split Nepal into pieces. The NORDIC nations even can’t think of it.
Interestingly, Ambassador Mukherjee must not have spoken his personal minds as regards the NORDIC countries. We guess he had been told to speak against those friends of Nepal by the foreign ministry of India concluding that the more support coming from these countries, would mean the Indian influence in Nepal eventually touching a new low. These salaried diplomats who are housed in a basket called Indian think tank more often than not speak as and when told to speak. India expresses its dissatisfaction through its malicious think tanks, and South Asia Analysis group which is yet to write, hopefully, a comprehensive article on the matters just ventilated by Mukherjee. Now they have talked of the NORDIC countries, sooner than later these third grade Indian analysts will be told to speak/write against the Europeans and the US finally. The European nation though take India as their fast friend, however, to trust the Indian regime would be a suicidal affair. Straight warning to the NORDIC and the members of the EU community and if the US is the taker then for the Americans as well.
If any differences, we the Nepalese have with them, we will settle for ourselves. We need no support from India to settle our differences. NORDIC countries need not panic as the man who personally targeted could also be in the payroll of the same countries. Some years ago, to recall, a sitting Home Secretary of India landed in Kathmandu loaded with some secret files only to be carried to the United States. He flew to the US from Kathmandu. This should explain the honesty of the Indian bureaucrats. That’s all.
The gist is that India will not tolerate any third country increased influence in Nepali politics whether it be the US, the EU or even the NORDIC ones as has been made abundantly clear. China is already a villain for India in Nepal.
Erratic diplomat.
He needs to be tamed. The Doyen of the Kathmandu based diplomatic corps must raise this issue understanding the very insult Mukherejee’s statement may have been felt by the countries concerned. Are you listening the Doyen of the Nepal based diplomatic corps? Will you dare to raise this issue with the Nepal Government?
