Nepal: Bloodbath threat once again

The nation is soon to go in for the adoption of a federal system of governance in Nepal if one were to believe the thundering utterances being made by some Nepali leaders. Well if this system takes care of the marginalized and the ignored sections of the society then we have nothing to object the advent of this system of governance, however, it would have been more logical and meaningful had the political benefits or for that matter demerits of this arrangement been discussed in advance across the country prior to let it to happen. Discussions and debates over such far reaching impact- issues definitely demand profuse and satisfactory debates and discussions among those who understand better the pros and cons of such a system which they may have gained through their expertise or observed the successful functioning of such a system from close quarters here and there.

Adoption of Federal order must not be made a Himalayan issue as such a system does exist in several countries near and far. No harm in having this system if one is sure of it yielding positive results for the countrymen. However, one too must take into account as to whether such a system of governance is suitable for a small country like Nepal whose national economy is not in a good shape. Care must be taken while adopting the federal structure as to whether such a provincial division the country can sustain for long eventually. Attention must also be given on how the Center would have its relations with the divided country and also whether the Center would command the national economy, defense and diplomatic conducts.

Prior to jumping to a conclusion in haste it would be advisable to all that they discuss the matter in details and later act as per their wishes, preferences and demands.

Any shortsightedness or a myopic vision as regards this adoption may invite catastrophic situation for sure. More so, care must be taken while adopting the federal order that the age old communal harmony existing in between and among the Nepali people, whether they be residing in Himal, Terai or even in Pahad, do not get disturbed and anti-social elements may not cash in upon from such an advent of the order which is perhaps a new experiment for this country. 

Friends near and far, we have been told, were hell bent on breaking this ancient nation by pumping in money through their local marionettes.

Now that some Madhesi leaders have talked of an imminent bloodbath if their demands of a federal order was denied. Okay and fine. However, more astonishing is the fact that the Nepal President and the Prime Minister remained just as a mere listeners to such highly objectionable expression. Bloodbath? Why for ? And how? But who has been denying the federal order at the first place?

Will those who will supervise this bloodbath remain themselves safe from this expected and bloodshed? No chance.  

Retaliation must counter this much hyped bloodbath to save the country and that will certainly happen this time around if the situation so demanded.

Tighten your belts instantly to face the eventuality.

We feel pity for both the President and the Prime Minister that they just listened to such news but could not reprimand them who talked of bloodbath.  In essence, the Guardian of the nation Dr. Yadav, that he is by all legal means, must have summoned those erratic and aggressive leaders who made such unhealthy expressions and served them all with stern warning not to repeat such dirty and anti-social expressions in the future. However, that was not forthcoming for certain understandable reasons. Failing to do so on the part of the President and Prime Minister raise questions as to whether they too were a “silent supporter” of the impending blood bath? The population though repose trust on him, read the President,  as his modesty and love for the nation demand no further clarification from his side. Yet, he must serve warning to the fanatic leaders who made such irresponsible remarks. Earlier the better.

The general populations have thus abundant reasons to suspect the very motives of those who were commanding the country in the present days.

Nepal’s Madhesi brothers and sisters too belong to this nation. Their love and honor for this country, the land of their birth, is unquestionable yet why they at times make frightening remarks? This is simply unexplainable for all.  

Above all, the most honored and respected leader from the Nepali Madhesi community, Mr. Mahanta Thakur, too spoke in a somewhat undesirable manner. He understands Nepal and Nepali compulsions and has already served a democratic party for decades and decades yet he this time around preferred to frighten the national population. But why? Can a democratic minded personality talk like this?

We have had enough of devastation. We also observed the nation-state decaying after the NOIDA deal. We no longer can afford to be once again the witness to the expected bloodbath. We thus appeal all to remain alert from the approaching political disaster and do all one can to avert this threat that looms large over the country. By the way which force on earth is trying to disturb our communal harmony? Will the enlightened leaders and our own academic readers shed some light on it if they possess some clue in this regard? We will be eagerly waiting for some meaningful reasons.
