Nepal: Happy Bijaya Dashami to corrupts and Lendhups in making

Horse trading is not at all a new occurrence in Nepal. Albeit, this noticeable fact entered energetically into the Nepali land after the signing of the New Delhi sponsored 12 point treaty which brought the former NOIDA dwellers to Kathmandu’s mainstream politics by the all time Indo-pendent late Girija Prasad Koirala (Rest in peace) and some others from the same ilk. Yet, it is not that we have had no buying-selling business as such prevalent in this wretched country. Certainly it existed even in those times. Money laundering used to decide the fate of those who wished to be elevated as ministers. So this is not at all a new practice in Nepal. At least we believe it because we saw for ourselves the elevation of some fifteen Prime Ministers in a cyclic order. System differed but yet some reemerged. Tentatively it was a rotational system. 1990 change institutionalized this system thanks late Indian leader Chandra Shekhar.

Nevertheless, credit must go to Sher Bahadur Deuba, the lousy leader of the so called sinking Nepali Congress party who initiated the practice of horse trading and gave it both name and fame and finally stamped it to the extent that the Nepali politics for the first time saw the grand entrance of sending the parliamentarians to Bangkok massage parlors, awarding duty free smart vehicles ( later sold by the ugly owners at a inflated grand price) and even of the screening of the Blue Films inside five star hotels to those who preferred the film most in order to seduce the “for sale” parliamentarians in his favor while in the process of becoming the Nepal Prime Minister. All the ugly norms entered into Nepali “democratic politics” that it was called then but the people at large never felt the dawn of democracy, if it were at all.

The climax of it all was observed when finally Sher Bahadur Deuba sold the entire Mahakali River to his masters in New Delhi and thus it could be easily presumed that the money for buying the saleable Nepal’s rotten “people’s representatives” must have come from across the border in advance. It was a mid-night parliamentary ratification. The practice continues even in this Delhi centered 12 point republican order. ( This paper knows so many things about the ratification of the Mahakali sale to India but for certain media ethical reasons, we can’t reveal it. But we will do it in the larger interest of this nation).

But not bad in that in the process many rag bag bobby tail Nepalese politicians have become millionaire. So what is the harm if some of our own nationals amass wealth? Wealth is wealth immaterial how it approaches in one’s pocket. If the process continues for long, let’s pray it prevails for some more decades until Nepal gets Sikkimised, then we presume that each and every Nepali will have South Korean per capita income. But bear with the emergence of countless Lendhups. Some have already surfaced.

To cut the story short, let’s come to the point.

Alarmingly, one Maoists leader perhaps who prefers to associate himself with Dr. Bhattarai’s panel, Devendra Poudel aka Sunil, surprisingly revealed that his own party chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda had become the Prime Minister of Nepal by indulging in horse trading practices.

Devendra’s instructive revelation does tell two things precisely.

Firstly, Devendra wants to establish that for becoming Nepal Prime Minister, one has to keep going on the practice of horse trading or must be smart enough in buy-and –sale process. Secondly, his expression also proves that money matters at time of Nepal PM election.

And, by extension, this does also mean that those who support the PM candidate, as an individual or for that matter on behalf of a party do so only when they are assured of the money coming into their pockets-prior to the election or immediately after the polls. But it has to be a guaranteed affair.

However, Devendra did not make it clear as to where such money pours in from? He also did not mention whether his own preferred Nepal Prime Minister kept the dirty practice going while being elevated as Nepal PM just the last month or allowed the invisible forces to foot his bill?

Indeed, as an obedient party man of the Bhattarai panel, Devendra did tell his readers that Bhattarai was the single Nepal PM in its entire recorded history wherein he became the Prime Minister of Nepal without spending even a single penny. He must have been kidding. Penny doesn’t count when it is foreign money converted into our own currency.

Himalayan fraud indeed Devendra spoke in lieu of being elevated to the rank of Bhattarai’s political advisor that he is now. In saying so, Devendra exposed his own party Chairman. 

Devendra would have made more authentic his claim that Chairman Prachanda became the country’s Prime Minister by paying hefty amounts to CA members who were on sale had he also made it known about the source of Prachanda’s election expenses?

But yet some sharp brains can presume as to wherefrom the money may have come from? Nepalese are not that fools now not to understand the source of money pouring in the Nepal Maoists party’s pocket. NOIDA connection not included.

Some have already begun raising their ugly heads.
