“And thus the teenage girl at the back of the motorbike slowly pushes her hands inside the pant and inserts her hands to touch the “sensitive” organs of the boy on the wheel. This if the first example.
Now let’s see how the second goes.
“In Jawlakhel, it could be easily seen that the teenage boys and girls almost appear to be in mood to copulate and thus the scenes like these have become a regular feature in
The third example is even sharper.
“Such scenes that have become a regular phenomenon among the teenagers in
Well, dear august readers, these paragraphs have been taken from a weekly newspaper published recently which was surprisingly penned by a female writer-Ms. Pandey (name withheld for obvious reasons).
A close look at the very framing of the story based on teenagers does tell that Kathmandu boys and girls who have come of their age want to break all the past culture and tradition and enter into a new era where “sex” or the related matters become redundant.
The second thing we could deduce from her writing based solely on “sex” also does tell that sex no longer remained a taboo and thus it could be interpreted by one in his or her own angles immaterial how the existing Nepali society takes their “behavior”.
Thirdly, what could also be inferred from the said write up is that even women folks, mainly reporters or columnists, could now venture to pen a topic that till the other day remain a preserve of the male writers. In effect, the story has been written with such finesse that the reader, if he is not in his teens, must forget his lost past and would summarily come to his teens and enjoy the best from such “porno” writing.
Fourthly, the lady writer does talk about the girl or for that matter the boy willingly inserting their hands into the inner parts of the opposite sex thereby providing an impression that the writer herself were the “witness” of the whole affair whether it took place in
Question thus arises as to how such “exciting” scenes come to her notice only? And thus the related question is that is she the single lady in
Fifthly, the manner the lady has written the entire story pertaining the almost “free sex scene” is not only puzzling but forces one to believe that even female writers can pen such stories that generally is not expected of them.
Sixthly, she does talk about the porno films. Doesn’t this lead us to think that the lady herself has viewed porno films which thus allows her to equate the Kathmandu scenes with those of what see herself has viewed in the sexy films. It could be that her watching such movies might have facilitated to equate the
Now to wind up, are such stories digestible for the Nepali population? Should such articles be printed that encourage more the teenagers? Should the writer depict the story as viewed by her or the story prior to print needed some changes in order to make it more readable keeping in mind that the newspaper is well read by the elders as well?
Thus the main question arises as to what the media ethics say on such articles? Should it be printed without caring the some what conservative society that it is by all means so far? Or it be printed mixing some “spices” in order to boost the sale of the newspaper?
In effect, we have no media ethics here. One is free to write any thing under the sun. What is sexy for this scribe could not be the same for the readers. Granted! But don’t we need some sort of media ethics regarding to what extent such “exciting” stories be allowed to get printed for the public consumption that is digestible?
Be that as it may, Ms. Pandey-whosoever she is-has established herself as a writer who could write any thing under the sun even if it were summarily rejected by her own family members. The message is clear.
