Will Nepal Go Election Way?

TGW

After Kamal Thapa, Chairman of Rastriya Prajatanra Party-Nepal, who favored holding another round of elections in the likelihood that the Constitution Drafting process would not end ahead of May 28, 2010 deadline, a host of leaders mostly from the Madhes centric parties have begun demanding the same.

It was Rajendra Mahato who just the other day demanded that fresh elections be held to get the fresh peoples’ mandate, the Nepali Congress leader Bimalaendra Nidhi, April 12, 2010, said that there is no alternative left except holding fresh elections or extend the tenure of the constituent assembly.

Nidhi made these remarks talking to his party cadres in Chitwan district.

Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gacchedhar who claims too often that he was the appropriate one to lead the country next also said that if the three major parties do not forge unity to draft the constitution then they should agree to get fresh mandate from the people. Gacchedhar made these remarks April 12, 2010.
This does mean that these leaders do not want the CA tenure extension.
